CELEBRATIONS

Through Celebrations, we spread the word about Alaska's great writers and their work.  Celebrations include Alaska Book Week and Open Mic events.

ALASKA BOOK WEEK

Join libraries, booksellers, publishers, and schools for Alaska Book Week (Oct. 15-22, 2011), a statewide celebration of Alaska's authors and books.  Book displays, author visits, book club events, and press coverage are among the activities planned.  Communities throughout the state are encouraged to come up with their own unique events, to be shared on the Alaska Book Week website.  With the help of its co-sponsors, 49 Writers will publicize the event with periodic emails, blogposts, and - funds permitting - posters, and bookmarks.
