Members receive discounted rates on clinics, workshops, classes, and selected events. Memberships are valid for one year from the date of payment. Platinum members receive lifetime membership status. Members are non-voting supporters of 49 Writers, Inc.

Your annual membership is valid for discounts on our courses, retreats, and events. It also includes invitations to special members-only events.  Most of all, your dues help fund programs to support Alaskawriters and their books.  Among the programs we're proud to offer:

• Affordable creative writing classes, from one-day clinics to multi-week courses in genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, and publishing. Courses are taught by experienced, published writers, including some of Alaska's most respected authors and teachers.
• Literary events featuring both Alaskan and visiting authors
• Our annual Alaska Book Week celebration (www.alaskabookweek.com: Oct. 8-15 this year)
• Our popular annual retreat at beautiful Tutka Bay Lodge, near Homer, featuring renowned writing faculty.
• Outreach to young writers through WYAK: Write Young Alaska (www.wyakwriters.com)  
• Daily online content and opportunities for literary networking via our collaborative blog, www.49writers.blogspot.com
